EMU/Harrisonburg
MCC Representative Luke Schrock-Hurst is located near the campus of Eastern Mennonite University to facilitate the many connections MCC maintains with EMU and the Harrisonburg community. Luke advocates for MCC service opportunities and issues to students and young adults as well as the broader church and surrounding community.
Luke helps facilitate MCC-related issues into the curriculum, chapels and campus events. He also facilitates seminars/conferences that help students to become better acquainted and involved in MCC issues such as peace and justice. Another function of this role is to be available for students and others with questions and interests in MCC service and hosts MCC-related visitors on campus.
The MCC East Coast Harrisonburg office moved to the Common Good Marketplace in August, 2009, joining other MCC related organizations Gift and Thrift, Booksavers of Virginia, and Artisans' Hope. Additional MCC related ministries in the Shenandoah Valley are the Virginia Mennonite Relief Sale and the Hinton Mennonite Relief Center.
