 Local Service Worker
This two year program allows individuals to serve as volunteers in their home community. Current assignments range from working in the MCC Washington Office to warehouse positions at the Material Resources Center. Projects are developed by partner organizations or churches in consultation with their local MCC office.
Ron Muse serves at Crossroads Community Center in Philadelphia as a Local Service Worker. He works as a prison minister and community chaplain. Ron spends two days a week leading Bible studies in local County prisons, and he is always on call for people in the neighborhood who are facing conflicts. In addition, he runs a basketball league for the churches in the Kingdom Builders Network, a local collection of Anabaptist churches in the city.
