Church Community Workers

The church community worker program is for persons from African-American, Native American, Asian American and Latino backgrounds who relate to Mennonite and Brethren in Christ Churches.

 

 

Constituency Relations

The MCC East Coast Ephrata Office shares a building with MCC's Material Resources Center in Ephrata, Pa.

 

 

 

Harrisonburg/VA

MCC Representative Luke Schrock-Hurst is located near the campus of Eastern Mennonite University to facilitate the many connections MCC maintains with EMU and the Harrisonburg community.

 

 

IVEP

The International Volunteer Exchange Program (IVEP) is a vocational and cultural exchange program.

 

 

 

Local Service Worker

This two year program allows individuals to serve as volunteers in their home community.

 

 

 

Material Resources Center

The Material Resources Center in Ephrata, Pa., is a central collection point for items donated by people in the United States who are responding to request for materials from MCC partners.

 

 

New York

The New York City Mennonite churches reflect the diversity of the area's melting pot nature.

 

 

 

Philadelphia

Mennonite Central Committee's work in Philadelphia is linked to a network of 20 diverse Mennonite, Brethren in Christ and Church of the Brethren congregations and ministries called "Kingdom Builders Anabaptist Network of Greater Philadelphia."

 

 

Puerto Rico

Mennonite Central Committee East Coast's work in Puerto Rico is linked to the Anabaptist congregations on the island, mainly through the Convención de Iglesias Evangélicas Menonitas de Puerto Rico and the Misión del Caribe conferences.

South Alabama

Thi Nguyen, MCC East Coast Service Worker, connects with the Vietnamese community in Bayou la Batre, Ala., in response to Hurricane Katrina. In partnership with the MCC Gulf Disaster Response out of Central States, Nguyen divides his time between Lutheran Disaster Services, in Bayou la Batre, Ala., and Way of Life Community Church in Mobile, Ala.

 

 

South Florida

South Florida is a very diverse area. Dade County, which surrounds Miami and encompasses 2.5 million people, is 65% Hispanic (40% of these are Cuban) with White, Blacks and Haitians making up the next largest groups.

 

 

Summer Service Program

The Summer Service Program enables people of diverse ethnic backgrounds.

 

 

 

Washington, DC Service Unit

The DC Service Unit provides service workers, speakers, material aid and other resources to local Mennonite churches and ministries in order to further peace and justice efforts.
